Overview

RE100 members pledge to source 100% renewable electricity by 2050 at the latest (recommended 60% by 2030, 90% by 2040) and report annually. Options include on-site generation, power purchase agreements, unbundled certificates and utility green tariffs (in Korea, the KEPCO green premium). Korea launched K-RE100 in 2021 to include SMEs and public bodies. CF100 (24/7 carbon-free) instead targets hourly carbon-free power including nuclear. Context: carbon neutrality, ESG.
