Purpose and questions

Common in sales, customer service and public-facing roles, stress interviews use dismissive remarks, pointed contradictions with your cover letter and rapid follow-ups. Interviewers watch emotional control rather than a single right answer.

Responding and limits

Acknowledge part of the point, reframe your experience to the question's intent, then add evidence. Pressure should relate to job competence: Korea's Fair Hiring Procedure Act bars employers with 30+ regular workers from requesting appearance, birthplace, marital status, assets or family members' jobs unless needed for the job.

FAQ

Does a stress interview mean I'm likely to pass?
No. It is often applied to everyone.
What if I freeze?
Ask for a moment, breathe and then answer.
