Formats

In debates, candidates are split into pro and con sides; in consensus tasks the team must reach one decision, such as allocating a budget. Many follow the assessment-center leaderless group discussion and are scored with a structured checklist.

How to stand out

Quality beats volume: summarize others' points, add one reason at a time and refocus the discussion when it drifts. Interrupting, attacking or staying silent lowers scores. Being moderator is not a bonus in itself.

FAQ

Should I volunteer as moderator?
Only if you can manage time and balance well.
What if I'm assigned the side I disagree with?
Argue it logically; that is what is assessed.
